Beautiful Places in the Bay Area

Fall Creek

Fall Creek Park color photo

Up Highway 9, up Empire Road (from San Jose, turn right at Chevron in Felton) and just past the cemetary is a beautiful little park. Hardly anyone used to visit, but recently the little parking lot has been rather crowded on weekends - and I know why.

A trail stretches along a beautiful creek, offering an easy stroll to historic lime kilns. Okay, the way back isn't quite as easy. The short stretch of trail from the creek to the parking lot is all fairly steeply uphill.

With running water and a fairly thick canopy of trees, the park is a cool break from warm weather in San Jose.

Fallen logs offer a great place to sit and eat lunch or take a break and enjoy the scenery.

If you like taking pictures, be sure to bring your camera! The bridges, stream banks, and little water falls all scream to be captured on film.
