Merry Christmas!
This December was hectic! After driving to Sacramento for Thanksgiving (and bringing all our Christmas presents for people), all the Grays gathered again at Grandma and Grandpa Gray's house to celebrate Aunt Virginia's birthday and Christmas. Mostly, we exchanged ornaments.
The next weekend, Brice was down from Washington to visit with his parents, and everyone was invited. We exchanged presents with Brice and had a wonderful meal. (I should have written this in January, I might have remembered the exact dates and what we ate! ;-)
After Brice had to leave for Christmas Eve duty at the fire station; Holly, Dan and Todd journeyed up from Los Angeles for Grandma and Grandpa Bowers' Christmas Eve bash. This year (lucky for us!) Uncle Lane got some won tons. Everyone was smothered in gifts, but the parties weren't over yet!
Christmas Day it was my Mother's turn to host the party. Christmas breakfast was served bright and early with Holly, Dan, Aunt Gail, Uncle Lane, Todd, Grandma and Grandpa Bowers all in attendence. We exchanged more gifts, and barely had time to sit and chat before Uncle Steve popped by for his present from me.
Grandma and Grandpa Gray arrived and we all sat down for the lovely Christmas "Dinner" Holly and Dan had prepared. I still remember THAT meal! We had chicken stuffed with cheese, provalone (I think - it was kind of like ham), and asiago (I think - it was like bitter spinach). Well, I guess I remember the taste better than the ingredients. The chicken was arranged on a bed of rice or cous cous.
Holly and Dan had to start their drive back home shortly after dinner, so I took off to spend Christmas evening with Jen and Luisa. We exchanged even MORE presents and ate even MORE food. We're still eating leftover cookies at their house.
Anyway, it was a wonderful Christmas, with all the wonderful food you could eat and many cheerful friends and family members to share it with!
