I Started My Own Business!

On August 5, 1999, I got my business license for Busy Marketing, my new internet marketing company. I help people promote their websites on the internet, mostly through search engine placement, and design websites. I already have two clients (which is why I decided I'd better get that business license!) My focus is on helping small businesses who can't afford an in-house marketing team get their websites on the internet map, then teach them how to maintain their search engine positions.

It was a cloudy day in this California summer when I drove down to city hall. I had trouble finding the place to register my fictitous name, and barely finished my paperwork by the time they closed for the day. My paperwork had to be mailed to me. The girl at the business license room was much nicer, maybe because she had a shorter line. Luckily, she also stayed open later.
